The Arnott's Group

P&C Business Partner | 2 Year Fixed-Term Contract | Onsite Huntingwood

From Tim Tams and Shapes to Campbell’s, V8, Vita-Weat, Scotch Finger and more, our brands have been part of everyday life for generations. Behind them is a team of people working across manufacturing, supply chain, sales, marketing, corporate functions and more; making, moving, growing and shaping the products Australians know and love.

We’re building the next chapter of one of Australia’s most iconic food businesses, with a portfolio of leading consumer brands and a clear purpose: creating delicious moments. Here, you’ll work with genuine people, solve real problems, and contribute to work that reaches millions of households. We’re looking for people who are curious, collaborative and ready to make an impact; whether that’s on the production floor, in the field, behind the scenes or leading what comes next.

If you’re looking for a place where your work feels tangible, your ideas are welcomed, and the products you help create are probably already in your pantry, you’ll find it here.

About the role

We’re looking for a P&C Business Partner to join our Huntingwood bakery site on a two-year fixed-term contract.

This is a hands-on, site-based role for someone who enjoys being close to the work, partnering with frontline leaders, and helping people matters get managed earlier, consistently and with good judgement. You’ll be working in a 24/7 manufacturing environment where visibility, pace, credibility and follow-through enable you to support leaders across ER/IR matters, attendance, conduct, performance, communication rhythms and people accountability, while helping build leader capability across the site.

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager – Huntingwood, you’ll provide practical P&C support across the site, with a strong focus on operational people matters, leader coaching and consistent execution. You’ll work closely with frontline leaders, operations, maintenance, quality, payroll, ER/IR stakeholders and broader P&C teams to help people decisions happen with more clarity, consistency and care.

This role will suit someone who is comfortable in an EA environment, knows how to balance care with accountability, and can coach leaders without becoming the default fixer.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll play a key role in helping Huntingwood strengthen the way people matters are managed day to day which includes:

  • Managing ER/IR matters end-to-end, including attendance, leave management, conduct, performance and frontline workforce issues
  • Coaching frontline leaders to have better people conversations, make sound decisions and follow through on agreed actions
  • Helping shift accountability back to the line, so leaders are supported to lead rather than defaulting every people matter to P&C
  • Supporting consistent communication across salaried, waged and frontline leader groups
  • Building visibility and trust across a 24/7 site, including flexing your rhythm at times to connect with different shifts in a practical and sustainable way
  • Partnering with site stakeholders to identify recurring people themes, risks and communication gaps
  • Supporting broader site and Supply Chain people initiatives, including workforce transition, leader capability and cyclical P&C activity

Ingredients for Success

You bring practical P&C experience from an operational, industrial or frontline environment, ideally manufacturing, FMCG, logistics, warehousing, transport or another shift-based workforce. You don’t need to be a deep technical IR specialist, but you do need enough ER/IR confidence to understand risk, ask the right questions, manage cases properly and know when to escalate.

You’ll likely bring:

  • Experience as a P&C Business Partner, HR Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor, ER Advisor, People Partner or similar site-based people role
  • Confidence managing ER matters with good judgement, documentation, escalation and procedural fairness
  • Exposure to EA, unionised or industrial environments
  • Experience coaching leaders through attendance, conduct, performance and people accountability matters
  • Comfort working in a busy site environment where priorities can shift and systems are not always perfect Strong communication skills, practical problem-solving ability and the maturity to operate independently while escalating appropriately

The kind of person who will thrive here

  • You are grounded, pragmatic and steady.
  • You can build trust with frontline leaders and employees, but you’re also confident enough to challenge, coach and hold the line when needed.
  • You like being close to operations, understanding what is really happening on the floor, and helping leaders work through people issues in a way that is fair, clear and commercially sensible.
  • You exhibit good judgement and follow-through.

Why join us?

This is a strong opportunity for a practical P&C professional who wants to build deeper site-based experience in a major manufacturing environment.

Over the two-year contract, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful P&C work across ER/IR, frontline leadership capability, workforce change and operational people priorities. The work you will do connects directly to how the site operates, how leaders lead and how people experience work.

You’ll also be joining The Arnott’s Group at a time where our people agenda is focused on building capability, clearer accountability and more consistent ways of working across the business.

If you’re a P&C professional who wants practical impact, real business connection and the chance to build capability where it matters most, we’d be keen to hear from you.
