Data Migration Lead – Immediate Start

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Migration Lead to support a large-scale data migration program for a leading health insurance client. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for planning, executing, and governing the migration of complex health insurance datasets while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance.

The Data Lead will work closely with business stakeholders, delivery teams, and vendors to manage data migration activities across multiple source and target systems. The role requires strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a deep understanding of health insurance data domains, with a strong focus on reconciliation, validation, and variance management.

Key Roles And Responsibilities

• Lead and own end-to-end data migration activities across health insurance datasets including claims, memberships, and reference data
• Act as a hands-on Data Lead, contributing directly to SQL development, data analysis, reconciliation, and issue resolution
• Define and execute data migration strategies, including data mapping, and transformation rules
• Design, review, and optimise ETL migration and validation activities
• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and variance analysis between source and target systems
• Support delivery and validation of regulatory and statutory reporting post-migration
• Identify, investigate, and resolve data defects and inconsistencies, providing clear explanations to stakeholders
• Establish and enforce data quality controls, governance standards, and migration best practices
• Collaborate with business, actuarial, finance, IT, and compliance teams to ensure migration outcomes meet business and regulatory requirements
• Mentor and guide data engineers and analysts involved in the migration program

Experience Required

• Proven experience in a Data Lead or Senior Data role, with a strong focus on data migration within the health insurance domain
• Strong hands-on expertise in SQL, data analysis, and reconciliation techniques
• Demonstrated experience delivering large-scale data migrations, including mapping, transformation, validation, and cutover support
• Solid understanding of health insurance concepts such as claims, memberships, premiums, and regulatory reporting
• Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
