Brisbane CBD / 100% on site - Initial 12 month contract

$60 per hour + Superannuation

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Business Support Officer to join a busy and collaborative team supporting financial operations, reporting, and process improvement initiatives. This role is ideally suited to someone who enjoys working across a broad range of business functions, is confident working with financial data and complex spreadsheets, and has a natural curiosity for identifying better ways of doing things.

Working closely with managers and senior stakeholders, you'll play a key role in improving financial administration processes, supporting reporting activities, and helping teams make more informed business decisions through accurate and timely financial information.

What you'll be doing

  • Support financial record keeping and reporting activities
  • Analyse expenditure data and prepare meaningful reports for stakeholders
  • Assist with financial reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
  • Develop and enhance spreadsheet-based reporting and tracking tools
  • Partner with managers to improve administrative and financial processes
  • Work across budgets, forecasts, invoices and expenditure reporting
  • Communicate with business support teams across multiple locations and time zones
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather information and resolve issues
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency
  • Help drive continuous improvement across business support activities

What you need to bring

  • Previous experience in a business support, operations support, administration or finance-related role
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with complex spreadsheets
  • Understanding of financial reconciliation and financial reporting principles
  • Ability to analyse information and identify trends, issues and opportunities
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence engaging with managers and senior stakeholders
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and adapt to changing demands
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of issues
  • Strong problem-solving and investigation skills

  • Experience supporting budgets and forecasting activities
  • Exposure to financial systems and reporting tools
  • Experience working in large or complex organisations
  • Experience collaborating with offshore or international teams
  • Proven track record improving administrative or reporting processes
  • Experience creating automated reports, templates or spreadsheet solutions
  • Background in a broad business support or operational role rather than a specialised accounting function

  • Work arrangement: This role will require the successful candidate to work on site in Brisbane full-time 5 days per week.
