About The Role

Perth Airport is seeking a Senior Advisor - EIA & Approvals to lead the delivery and implementation of Environmental Impact Assessments and statutory approvals that support the development of the Perth Airport estate.

Reporting to the Approvals Manager, you will work across planning, design, environment, heritage and project delivery teams to coordinate approvals documentation, manage technical inputs and support clear, practical decision-making with regulators, consultants and internal stakeholders.

You will be comfortable working across multiple disciplines and responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Lead the coordination and preparation of approvals documentation in line with relevant legislation, including the Airports Act 1996, EPBC Act 1999 and Aboriginal Heritage Act 1972.
  • Plan and manage approvals schedules, priorities and deliverables to support project timelines and broader business objectives.
  • Oversee the preparation and submission of management plans, technical reports and compliance documentation to meet regulatory and project requirements.
  • Scope, procure and manage external consultants, ensuring technical assessments are accurate, practical and aligned to approvals outcomes.
  • Provide specialist advice to project teams on approvals pathways, obligations, constraints and mitigation strategies.
  • Build effective relationships with regulators, consultants, tenants and internal stakeholders to support timely, high-quality approvals outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across environmental management, approvals processes, assurance and compliance practices.

About You

You are an experienced approvals professional with strong technical judgement, clear communication skills and the confidence to work across complex stakeholder environments. You bring a practical, solutions-focused approach and can translate legislative and environmental requirements into clear actions that support safe, compliant and sustainable project delivery.

To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have

  • A Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Ecology, Biological Science or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • At least 10 years’ demonstrated experience working across multiple disciplines and managing stakeholders in complex project environments.
  • Experience delivering Commonwealth approvals, environmental impact assessments, management plans and compliance reports.
  • Current knowledge and practical application of State and Federal environmental legislation, with Airports Act 1996 experience highly regarded.
  • Experience managing approvals and post-approval processes for infrastructure projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear reports and explain complex regulatory information to a range of audiences.
  • A collaborative style, strong planning capability and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining quality and accountability.
