About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Typst Engineer to design, develop, and maintain document automation solutions using Typst, supporting critical banking and financial reporting functions. The ideal candidate will collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, and application teams to create high-quality, compliant, and scalable document-generation frameworks for customer communications, regulatory reporting, and internal documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain document templates using Typst for banking and financial services use cases.

Build automated reporting solutions to generate customer statements, compliance reports, risk reports, and operational documents.

Integrate Typst templates with enterprise applications, APIs, and data sources.

Collaborate with business analysts, product owners, and compliance teams to gather document requirements.

Ensure document outputs meet regulatory, branding, accessibility, and quality standards.

Optimize template performance and document rendering processes.

Implement version control, testing, and CI/CD practices for document-generation solutions.

Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to document formatting, data integration, and automation workflows.

Create technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to support teams.

Required Skills & Experience

3+ years of software engineering or document automation experience.

Hands-on experience with Typst or similar document-generation technologies (LaTeX, Markdown-based publishing tools, etc.).

Strong programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript.

Experience integrating document systems with APIs and databases.

Understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies.

Experience working with structured data formats such as JSON, XML, and CSV.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Banking, Financial Services, or FinTech environments.

Knowledge of regulatory reporting and financial documentation standards.

Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.

Experience with document automation platforms and workflow orchestration tools.

Understanding of security, compliance, and data privacy requirements in financial institutions.

Nice to Have

Experience with Power Platform, SharePoint, or enterprise content management systems.

Exposure to DevOps practices and infrastructure automation.

Knowledge of accessibility standards for customer-facing documents.
