About The Role

The Senior Commercial Governance Advisor is responsible for leading the commercial strategy and governance framework for TasNetworks’ transmission customers and connections portfolio. Working across a complex regulatory and commercial environment, the role provides strategic direction to ensure customer and business outcomes are achieved while maintaining compliance with regulatory obligations.

The position plays a key role in leading commercial decision-making, managing commercial risk, and fostering strong stakeholder relationships to support successful customer negotiations and connection outcomes. Through collaboration across the business, the role also identifies opportunities to enhance commercial frameworks, processes, and agreements to ensure they remain fit for purpose and aligned with TasNetworks’ strategic objectives.

Responsibilities Also Include

  • Lead the development and implementation of commercial strategies, frameworks, and governance processes for transmission customers and connections, enabling consistent and risk-informed decision-making.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance transmission connection processes, customer outcomes, and operational efficiency across the business.
  • Provide commercial leadership and support for customer connection opportunities, including risk assessment, pricing reviews, negotiations, and the execution of complex agreements.
  • Ensure transmission connection agreements and related contractual arrangements remain commercially robust, fit for purpose, and aligned with regulatory obligations and business objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships while managing commercial enquiries, risks, disputes, and performance reporting to support informed decision-making and successful commercial outcomes.

About You

You are a commercially astute and analytical professional with strong leadership, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills. Able to navigate complex and regulated environments, you use data-driven insights and sound judgement to drive commercial outcomes, manage risk, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives.

A collaborative and proactive communicator, you build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholder groups and thrive when managing competing priorities. With a strong customer focus and ability to influence across teams, you drive projects forward and deliver practical, commercially sound solutions.

You’ll Also Bring

  • At least 5 years’ experience managing revenue contracts operations, demonstrating success in streamlining processes, improving efficiencies, and delivering business outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success in managing contractor performance, navigating complex negotiations and disputes, mitigating risk, and supporting informed decision-making through robust business case development.
  • Proven experience operating within a utilities contract environment, with the ability to develop and execute contract strategies that deliver strong operational, commercial, and financial outcomes.
