What this opportunity involves
The Assistant Facilities Manager is to support the Facilities Manager and Property Manager on behalf of the client, Growthpoint Properties Australia. You will be responsible for overseeing daily property operations across a portfolio of commercial assets. This hands-on role combines operational facilities management with property administration, including coordinating maintenance and repairs, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with safety and statutory regulations. The position requires strong stakeholder management skills as you'll liaise regularly with tenants, owners, contractors, and internal teams while supporting facility projects and ensuring service delivery meets agreed KPIs.
An Overview of the role
Assist with monthly report preparation;
Operational support: Assist in overseeing daily facility operations, including maintenance, cleaning, and repairs.
Maintenance coordination: Supervise and coordinate maintenance and repair work performed by in-house technicians and external contractors.
Vendor and contract management: Manage relationships with suppliers and service providers, ensuring they meet agreed-upon service levels and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Safety and compliance: Implement and monitor facility safety procedures, ensure compliance with health, safety, and statutory regulations, and assist with emergency preparedness.
Project assistance: Support the management of facility projects, such as renovations, reconfigurations, and minor and major works.
Budget and cost management: Assist in monitoring and analyzing facilities expenses, tracking costs, and supporting the development of budgets and cost projections.
Staff supervision: Supervise, schedule, and evaluate the performance of facility staff and contractors.
Communication: Liaise with internal departments, external stakeholders, and the public regarding facility-related matters.
Any other tasks requested to be completed by the Facilities Manager or Property Manager.
