Ballarat City Council

  • Lead strategic asset planning and lifecycle management for one of regional Victoria's largest infrastructure portfolios.
  • Develop and improve Asset Management Plans, policies and strategic planning frameworks.
  • Influence major infrastructure investment decisions that shape Ballarat's future.
  • Provide expert advice on infrastructure performance, risk, asset valuation and renewal prioritisation.
  • Hybrid working arrangements of three office days per week is the default for this position. The successful candidate may apply for additional flexibility within the bounds of City of Ballarat’s policies.

The role

The Senior Asset Management Engineer leads strategic asset planning, lifecycle modelling and renewal forecasting to support sustainable infrastructure investment across the City of Ballarat. Working closely with the Principal Asset Management Engineer, the role provides expert advice, drives continuous improvement and delivers data-driven solutions that support long-term community outcomes.

About You

We are seeking a motivated and analytical asset management professional with a passion for strategic infrastructure planning and data-driven decision-making. You will bring experience in asset management, engineering or infrastructure planning, with the ability to translate complex asset information into practical solutions that support sustainable community outcomes.

You will be a collaborative communicator who can build strong relationships across the organisation, influence stakeholders and provide trusted technical advice. With a continuous improvement mindset, you will thrive on solving complex problems, identifying opportunities and helping shape the future of Ballarat's infrastructure portfolio.
