We're looking for a friendly, organised and customer-focused Customer Service Officer to join our team splitting between the Cessnock and East Maitland offices. About the Role
Based between our Cessnock and East Maitland office, full-time maximum term opportunity through to 30 July 2027.
As the first point of contact for tenants, housing applicants and other stakeholders, you'll play a critical role in creating positive customer experiences. Working across phone, email and face-to-face interactions, you'll provide information, coordinate enquiries and support the smooth operation of our housing services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional and responsive customer service via phone, email and in person
- Manage a high volume of incoming enquiries from tenants, applicants and stakeholders
- Respond to general housing and tenancy-related enquiries
- Log maintenance requests and ensure accurate customer records are maintained
- Complete data entry, document management and general administrative tasks
- Prepare correspondence and support day-to-day office operations
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve customer enquiries
- Contribute to a positive customer experience through timely and effective service delivery
You will bring
- Experience in customer service, reception, contact centre or administrative roles
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage sensitive or challenging conversations with empathy and professionalism
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing tasks
- Experience using Microsoft Office and customer management or database systems
- A positive, team-oriented approach and commitment to customer outcomes
Experience within community housing, social services or a related sector will be highly regarded, but is not essential.
