The Inventory Controller is responsible for managing inventory and ensuring the smooth flow of goods and materials from suppliers through to production and customers.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Regularly monitor stock levels and coordinate with warehouse staff to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Implement and maintain inventory management practices to optimize stock levels and reduce holding costs.
  • Conducting regular physical inventory audits and cycle counts to verify stock accuracy.
  • Manage deliveries and coordinate logistics for inbound and outbound inventory.
  • Forecasting supply and demand planning - based on sales trends, purchasing patterns, and seasonal fluctuations
  • Work closely with sales, production, and engineering teams to ensure system is updated and inventory control procedures are followed.
  • Point of contact for production – raising and closing work orders in MYOB, oversea BOM correctness to ensure inventory control processes are followed.
  • Utilize supply chain management software to analyse operations, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements for efficiency gains, further reporting on inventory levels and turnover rates.
  • Work closely with engineering team and to create and maintain part numbers, BOMs, version changes and supersessions.

About You

Inventory Controllers play a critical role in monitoring stock levels, accurate stock records, coordinate orders and forecast supply and demand, preventing stockouts, and ensuring timely delivery of products. They are essential for efficient supply chain management, accurate financial reporting, and overall operational success.

Your skills will include:

  • A bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess supply chain performance and implement improvements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with supply chain management software and tools, as well as proficiency in data analysis.
  • High levels of initiative

  • Manufacturing, logistics, transport or similar industries background.
