About the role

Are you ready to step into the world of Dangerous good transport?

With our support and on the job training, you’ll join one of Australia’s largest fleets of modern Scania’s transporting dangerous goods throughout North Queensland.

We currently have Gladstone based positions available for a driver looking for varied driving routes transporting goods to customer sites.

This role will cover metro and remote deliveries covering territory between Mackay and Brisbane, and inland coal fields, with the occasional overnight trip.

The role suits drivers interested in upskilling their existing experience into the Dangerous Good space, as you will be provided with comprehensive training and mentoring learning to load and unload various liquid DG and non-DG products.

This role will also provide opportunities to advance further into our Explosive division.

Responsibilities

Operating under BFM and transporting bulk DG liquids around Gladstone and surrounding areas.

Unloading of Bulk Tankers, ISOs and palletised freight at customer sites.

Mainly local routes, but some linehaul (overnight) trips.

Using chemical suits and specific PPE such as respirators when required.

Pumping of DG products using electric, diesel and diaphragm pumps.

Adhering to safety and compliance policies and procedures.

A strong commitment to safety regulations, ensuring safety standards are adhered to.

You will have

MC licence with at least 1 year of proven heavy vehicle driving experience

HC with a minimum of 3 years of driving experience and willing to upgrade

Dangerous Goods licence or willing to obtain

Basic Fatigue Management accreditation or willing to obtain

Forklift licence or willing to obtain

MSIC card or willing to obtain

A strong commitment to safety regulations

Good driving history

Ability to follow instructions, and to communicate effectively

Flexibility for ad-hoc weekend work
