What does the role involve?
The Business Analyst plays a key role in shaping how our supporter systems and data support the organisation's fundraising and engagement goals. Working across Salesforce (NPSP), Marketing Cloud, and related platforms, this role identifies, proposes, and documents system and process improvements, leads projects to deliver them, and builds the data governance frameworks that keep our data reliable and well-managed. It's a hands-on role for someone who enjoys getting into the detail of how things work, and who can also step back to see where the bigger opportunities for improvement lie.
Key Responsibilities Will Include (but Not Limited To)
- Analyse and design solutions: turn business needs into clear specs, user stories, and process designs, with hands-on configuration where needed.
- Lead projects end-to-end: from discovery to delivery, managing timelines, risk, and testing, and leading vendor and partner relationships where relevant.
- Drive automation and improvement: spot inefficiencies and build the automations and process fixes.
- Champion data governance: build and embed the frameworks that keep our data quality, standards, and ownership on track.
- Support change that sticks: document processes and changes, and guide teams through adoption with training and clear communication.
- Pitch in on data and reporting: extraction, analysis, and insight to support the wider team as needed.
This role is based in Sydney and will work a hybrid model, including at least two days in the office per week (Tuesday and Wednesday).

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a deep commitment to Caritas Australia’s mission to end poverty and injustice by promoting human dignity for all, as well as a dedication to the principles of Catholic Social Teaching that guide our global efforts. They will have a mix of the following qualifications, skills and experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in either Business, Information Technology, Data or in a related field.
- Several years' experience as a business analyst or similar, ideally in a CRM or data-driven environment.
- A track record of leading projects from discovery through to delivery.
- Experience with Salesforce or a comparable CRM — NPSP or nonprofit experience a bonus.
- Strong analytical skills, with a knack for turning business needs into clear, practical specs.
- Great communicator, equally comfortable with technical and non-technical audiences.
