Crew Leader / Regional 2IC – Forestry Operations, Green Triangle
Technical Forest Services P/L
Technical Forest Services is expanding in the Green Triangle region, and we're looking for an experienced Crew Leader to lead our field crew and support the Regional Coordinator on the ground.
This is a hands-on role — most of your time is on the tools, working alongside the crew. You'll lead from the front on day-to-day field work, set the standard by example, take charge during fire and emergency response, and help keep our forest inventory and field survey work on track. You'll also step in for the Regional Coordinator when needed.
What you'll be doing: Working on-site with the crew leading field operations, prioritising tasks and adjusting on the fly, leading fire suppression, prevention and prescribed burn work, carrying out forest health surveys and inventory work, and mentoring crew members through hands-on demonstration.
What you'll bring: Proven experience leading a team from the front in forestry, agriculture, conservation or a similar field-based environment; a solid grasp of forest inventory or field survey work; a strong safety mindset; a current Class C licence; and the physical fitness to work outdoors in all conditions.
Nice to have: wildfire firefighting experience or a Crew Leader ticket, a Cert III/IV in Forest Operations or related field, chainsaw/chemical handling certifications, or GPS/inventory software experience.
If you'd rather be out doing the work than stuck behind a desk, and you've got the experience to lead a crew while you do it, we'd love to hear from you.
