We are looking for a Payroll Officer to join our in-house payroll team and help ensure our employees are paid accurately and on time, every time.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be part of a collaborative team responsible for delivering payroll services across a large and diverse organisation. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with payroll experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, solving problems, and providing great service to stakeholders.

About the role.

As a Payroll Officer, you will support the end-to-end processing of a fortnightly payroll and assist with a range of payroll administration activities across the employee lifecycle.

  • Processing payroll transactions accurately and within required timeframes.
  • Processing new starters, employee changes, transfers, salary reviews, and terminations.
  • Maintaining employee payroll records and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Administering payroll deductions including superannuation, salary packaging, and taxation requirements.
  • Responding to payroll enquiries and resolving issues through the payroll ticketing system.
  • Assisting with off-cycle and advance pay runs.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to a high-performing payroll function.
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver a responsive and professional payroll service

What you bring to the role.

You will be a detail-oriented payroll professional who enjoys working as part of a team and takes pride in delivering accurate and timely outcomes and bring:

  • Experience in a payroll or payroll-related role using a recognised payroll system.
  • Understanding of payroll processes and employment arrangements, including Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Well-developed customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capability and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Experience working in a medium to large organisation will be highly regarded.

Experience with Aurion and/or UKG Dimensions is advantageous but not essential
