About the Role…

Are you passionate about data, analytics and transforming information into actionable business insights?

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is seeking a driven and analytical Business Insights and Reporting Specialist to support data-informed decision-making across the organisation.

This role is responsible for leveraging customer, marketing and operational data to generate meaningful insights that drive business performance and continuous improvement. Working across multiple departments, you will develop and maintain data models, dashboards and reporting solutions that support strategic planning, campaign evaluation and organisational growth.

You will work with data from a variety of platforms and systems, integrating, transforming and analysing information to create accurate and insightful reports. The role will also focus on optimising reporting processes, improving data quality and supporting the organisation's ongoing digital transformation initiatives.

Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will translate reporting requirements and business questions into actionable insights that support decision-making and identify opportunities for improvement.

Beyond reporting, you will play a key role in enhancing data governance, automation and business intelligence capabilities, contributing to a culture of data-driven decision-making across the RAS.

You are a proactive self-starter who can work independently while building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business. You are comfortable translating technical information into meaningful recommendations that influence decision-making.

To be successful, you will demonstrate:

  • Experience in a data analytics, business insights or reporting role
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, customer analytics and performance reporting
  • Experience working with large and complex datasets
  • Advanced proficiency in Power BI, Excel and SQL
  • Experience developing dashboards, reports and data visualisations for business users
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Experience integrating and transforming data from multiple systems and platforms
  • Ability to communicate complex data and insights in a clear and meaningful way
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver outcomes in a dynamic environment
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and process optimisation

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Digital Technology or a related discipline

  • Experience with BigQuery, DAX, Microsoft Fabric and M Language

  • Exposure to CRM, CMS, automation tools and data workflow systems

  • Experience within events, marketing, customer insights or membership-based organisations

  • Experience supporting digital transformation or business intelligence initiatives
