About the role

Reporting to the City Arborist – Public Trees this role is responsible for delivering arboriculture services that support the maintenance, safety and enhancement of Parramatta’s public tree assets. We deliver reliable, high‑quality services for our community. You’ll be part of a supportive “One Council” team where safety, teamwork and accountability guide how we work.

In this role you will

  • Undertake tree inspections, assesses customer requests, manages tree-related data and systems in One Council (Tech One).
  • Conduct tree risk assessments, and assess trees for maintenance and removal works.
  • Provide technical advice, investigate tree-related issues and claims, and ensure compliance is met with relevant legislation, standards and Council policies.
  • Deliver high customer service to the community and internal / external stakeholders

We offer a competitive salary from $100,112.85 to $110,247.25 plus 12% superannuation.

Participation in Council’s Motor Vehicle Scheme is available for this role and will be discussed with the successful candidate.

About you

We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience in arboriculture and urban forestry management, including tree inspections, risk assessment, tree maintenance, customer request management, insurance investigations, and the application of relevant Australian Standards for amenity tree pruning.

  • Strong knowledge of plant identification and horticultural practices.
  • Proficient in database systems and Customer Request Management (CRM) software.
  • Excellent communication, conflict resolution and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality customer service

  • AQF5 Diploma of Arboriculture
  • Current TRAQ accreditation
  • Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Construction Induction (White Card)
