Job Title: AWS Data Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled AWS Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and cloud-based data platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with AWS data services, ETL development, and data modelling, enabling high-quality data solutions for analytics and business intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS services
• Build and optimise data lakes and data warehouses on AWS
• Develop data integration solutions using services such as AWS Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions
• Implement data ingestion frameworks for batch and real-time processing
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security across data platforms
• Collaborate with data analysts, scientists, and stakeholders to deliver data solutions
• Optimise performance and cost of AWS data infrastructure
• Support CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices
• Troubleshoot and resolve data pipeline and performance issues

Key Skills & Experience

• Strong experience with AWS services: S3, Glue, Redshift, Lambda, EMR, Athena, Kinesis
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or PySpark
• Experience with big data frameworks (Spark, Hadoop)
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools and data pipeline orchestration (Airflow, Step Functions)
• Knowledge of data modelling techniques (star/snowflake schema)
• Experience with data warehousing and lakehouse architectures
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, CI/CD pipelines)
• Understanding of data security, governance, and compliance
