The Opportunity

The Board of the Melbourne Market Authority is seeking a Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation and ensure the organisation’s key strategic priorities are delivered including, ensuring the market remains relevant and effective for our customers, is sustainable and can deliver commercial success for the MMA and our customers. Importantly, the CEO must ensure the market is a safe, productive and vibrant place to work and trade.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced executive to lead a high-value Victorian asset and position the Melbourne Market Authority for growth, innovation and long-term impact.

As custodian of Australia’s largest wholesale fruit, vegetable and flower market, spanning 670,000 sqm, it plays a pivotal role in maintaining quality, consistency and access across the supply chain. The market community is diverse, with around 1,500 businesses and 10,000 access card holders. The Market supports a sector that trades an estimated $2.5 billion in produce for Victorian consumption each year.
