We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our Technical Communications team, reporting to the Technical Communications Team Lead. This role is responsible for drafting, editing, and producing high-quality technical documentation that supports EOS products and services. As a key contributor, the Technical Writer will collaborate closely with engineering teams and cross functional stakeholders to ensure documentation is accurate, consistent, and aligned with project and customer requirements.
Primary duties
The Technical Writer plays a critical role in the development and delivery of EOS technical publications. This includes:
- Authoring and editing a range of technical documents to support engineering, manufacturing, and operational needs.
- Collaborating with engineering teams locally and internationally to gather source material and clarify technical content.
- Ensuring documentation meets required standards, including ASD S1000D, and is delivered on time and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and maintain EOS technical documentation, including but not limited to Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETPs), Operator and Maintenance Manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogues and Manufacturing Process Instructions.
- Draft, format and publish content using the R4i Suite and other relevant software tools, in compliance with ASD S1000D standards.
- Liaise with engineering, Integrated Logistics Support (ILS), training, and maintenance teams to ensure documentation meets project and operational requirements.
- Participate in peer reviews and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of accuracy and clarity within Technical Publications. This includes engagement with EOS engineering groups both locally and internationally, engagement with teams responsible for Project, ILS, Training and Maintenance
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Technical Communications team.

Experience
- Degree qualification in a relevant field (e.g., Technical Communication, Engineering, Information Technology).
- Demonstrated experience in technical writing, preferably within the defence or aerospace industry.
- Familiarity with CASG environments and defence documentation standards.
- Proficiency in using technical authoring tools, particularly the R4i Suite.
- Ability to obtain and maintain AGSVA Baseline Security Clearance.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar technical writing role.
- Strong understanding of ASD S1000D and other defence publication standards.
