Maintenance Technician

Benmax is seeking a hands-on, self-motivated Maintenance Technician to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a trade-qualified professional with a mechanical mindset who is looking to transition into the HVAC and building services industry. You will work autonomously across client sites, delivering high-quality service and maintenance work on a range of mechanical and HVAC systems.

We welcome applications from experienced tradespeople across disciplines including mechanical fitters, electricians, and others who bring strong mechanical aptitude and a drive to grow their skills in a new sector. A refrigeration licence is not required for this role.

Your Work Will Include

• Servicing and maintaining commercial HVAC systems including belts, bearings, pulleys, fans and pumps
• Identifying faults, diagnosing maintenance problems and recommending repairs
• Managing your own schedule and delivering work to a high standard without supervision
• Building strong relationships with clients through professional communication and reliable service
• Preparing accurate quotes and creating purchase orders
• Upholding safety standards and reporting hazards, incidents and near misses
• Representing Benmax professionally on client sites at all times

What You’ll Bring

• A relevant trade certificate, mechanical, electrical or equivalent (essential)
• Valid Australian Driver's Licence (essential)
• A mechanical mindset with the ability to diagnose and solve practical problems
• Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and manage your time
• A customer-focused attitude with professional communication skills
• Experience with HVAC systems (desirable but not essential, we'll support the right person)
