The German-Australian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) is seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Membership Consultant to join our team in Perth. This is an exciting inaugural role, marking the first time AHK Australien has had a dedicated permanent presence in Western Australia. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all stakeholders within or interested in the German-Australian business community, from established member companies and government bodies to industry associations and businesses looking to enter the Australian market. Building on existing activities in the region, you will deepen AHK Australien's relationships across the community and represent the organisation at key industry events as we establish our permanent footprint in Western Australia.

Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Serve as the primary relationship manager for current and prospective members across the Western Australian region
• Manage member enquiries proactively and advocate for their interests in close coordination with the wider AHK Australien team
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing members to ensure satisfaction and long-term engagement
• Develop and execute targeted membership acquisition and retention strategies in alignment with AHK Australien's goals
• Identify and approach potential new members through research, lead follow-up, and active community engagement
• Manage the membership database to ensure accuracy, and analyse trends to identify member needs and opportunities
• Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of membership services and offerings.
• Collaborate with the Events team to reflect member interests in the AHK Australien events calendar, with hands-on execution of activities in Perth
• Represent AHK Australien at events, trade fairs, and member activities to foster connections and promote membership opportunities
• Work with the Marketing team to ensure Western Australian content is well represented across AHK Australien's communications and marketing materials
• Support the Corporate Services team with regional market knowledge and facilitate access to member companies for service requests
• Provide general administrative support as required
• Reporting directly to the Head of Membership.

Requirements for job

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in membership, account management, or B2B sales, supported by a degree in Business, Communications, or a related field
• Familiarity with the energy and mining sector is advantageous
• Excellent organisational and project coordination skills
• Deliver results and successfully close procedures according to brief
• Ability to handle tight deadlines and negotiation skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with a confident, professional approach across in-person, phone, and written communication
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in German is advantageous
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms
• Genuine interest in fostering German-Australian business and trade relations
• Experience working with or within small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), particularly in a business development or relationship management capacity, is advantageous
