Aspen Medical is seeking an experienced and commercially astute
Director – Business Development to lead the identification, development and conversion of strategic growth opportunities across the healthcare, government and corporate sectors. Reporting to the General Manager – Business Development, this senior leadership role is responsible for building a high-quality pipeline of new opportunities that fuels our Capture & Bids function and supports the organisation's long-term growth strategy.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for someone who thrives on creating opportunities where none previously existed. You'll engage with executive stakeholders, shape market strategy, lead a high-performing business development team and represent Aspen Medical across industry, government and corporate networks. While the role can be based anywhere in Australia,
Brisbane or Canberra are strongly preferred, inline with our office locations.
About The Role
- Lead the development and execution of Aspen Medical's new business strategy across healthcare providers, government agencies and corporate organisations.
- Build, manage and convert a disciplined pipeline of strategic opportunities that delivers sustainable revenue growth.
- Establish and strengthen executive-level relationships with C-suite leaders, procurement executives and key decision-makers across target markets.
- Lead pre-sales engagement including capability presentations, market sounding activities, Expressions of Interest and tailored value propositions.
- Ensure seamless transition of qualified opportunities to the Capture & Bids team with robust customer intelligence and stakeholder mapping.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing Business Development team while representing Aspen Medical at key industry forums and events.
About You
- A proven business development leader with 10+ years' experience in business development, commercial leadership or health sector sales, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role.
- Demonstrated success originating and converting complex opportunities within the Australian government health sector or closely related industries.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills with a track record of influencing C-suite executives and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder sales environments.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing strategy, financial modelling and developing commercially compelling solutions.
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Health Management or a related discipline (MBA or postgraduate qualifications highly regarded).
- A strategic, outcomes-focused leader who enjoys coaching others and creating a high-performance, customer-focused culture.
