Geographic Information System Specialist

We are partnering with a well-capitalised renewable energy platform to appoint a GIS Specialist to support the development of utility-scale renewable energy projects across Australia.

Working closely with the development, engineering, construction and asset management teams, you will be responsible for managing project GIS databases, spatial analysis and mapping to support investment and development decisions across a diverse portfolio including BESS, solar and wind generation.

Role Overview

You will:

  • Develop and maintain GIS databases across the Australian development portfolio.
  • Produce high-quality mapping and spatial analysis to support project development and investment decisions.
  • Collect, validate and manage geographic data from a range of sources.
  • Partner with project teams to provide GIS support throughout project origination, development and delivery.
  • Maintain GIS data standards, ensuring information remains accurate, accessible and up to date.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on GIS applications and tools.
  • Prepare maps, reports and visualisations to support project approvals and stakeholder engagement.

What We're Looking For

  • 2+ years' experience in GIS, spatial analysis or geospatial data management
  • Proficiency with Esri products, ArcGIS or similar GIS platforms
  • Experience managing spatial databases and producing high-quality mapping outputs
  • Knowledge of renewable energy infrastructure and Australian environmental planning frameworks is highly regarded
  • Experience with remote sensing, open-source GIS datasets or spatial visualisation tools is advantageous
  • Exposure to Python, R or other scripting languages for GIS automation is beneficial
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities

Location & Travel

  • Brisbane CBD with occasional travel to project sites as required

Qualifications

  • Degree in Geography, Geospatial Science, Environmental Science or a related discipline
  • Current Australian driver's licence
  • Full Australian working rights
