ILS Practitioner

Electro Optic Systems

We continually strive to help our workforce achieve their professional and personal goals, engaging them in challenging and inspiring projects.

We are looking for an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Practitioner to support EOS Defence Systems, supporting the ARAS Innovator program. In this role, you will contribute to the planning, development and delivery of supportability and sustainment outputs across the program lifecycle, ensuring products can be operated, maintained and supported safely, effectively and in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.

You will work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, Quality, Production and the customer to define and manage ILS requirements and deliverables, coordinate support system design, and maintain clear evidence of compliance and traceability.

Successful candidates will help enable transition from design to sustainment by developing ILS artefacts such as support concepts, maintenance plans, training and technical documentation inputs, spares/provisioning recommendations, and logistics data to support in-service operations.

Primary Duties

The role plays a pivotal part in applying integrated logistics support practices to ensure supportability, availability and whole-of-life outcomes are considered and evidenced throughout the program lifecycle.

You will support adherence to governance and standards by producing and maintaining ILS plans, analyses and records, coordinating reviews and approvals, and providing clear reporting to stakeholders with the appropriate levels of integrity, safety and ethics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support development and maintenance of the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Plan and associated schedules, deliverables and reporting for the program.
  • Elicit, analyse and manage ILS/supportability requirements (including contractual and customer requirements) and support traceability through to verification evidence.
  • Contribute to support system design activities, including support concept development, maintenance philosophy, supportability trade studies and through-life considerations.
  • Conduct and/or support logistics engineering and analyses as required (e.g., LSA/LSAR, maintenance task analysis, level of repair analysis, spares/provisioning, support equipment, facilities and infrastructure needs).
  • Coordinate technical data inputs to training, technical publications and maintenance documentation to ensure support products reflect the approved configuration and support concept.
  • Support reliability and maintainability activities (e.g., RAM inputs, failure reporting, corrective action support, and maintainability considerations) in collaboration with Engineering and Quality.
  • Assist with obsolescence management planning and sustainment risk identification, including logging, tracking and supporting mitigation actions.
  • Liaise with Engineering, Production, Supply Chain and ILS stakeholders to ensure support products and provisioning align with build, test, delivery and in-service needs.
  • Support ILS reviews, audits and customer engagements by preparing evidence packs, responding to actions and maintaining accurate records.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for ILS processes, data quality and tool usage, escalating issues as required.

Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) and/or logistics engineering role within an engineering or product development environment (defence programs preferred).
  • Working knowledge of ILS principles and deliverables across the lifecycle, including support concept, maintenance planning, provisioning/spares, training and technical publications inputs.
  • Experience supporting logistics analyses and data (e.g., LSA/LSAR, maintenance task analysis, LORA, spares optimisation, support equipment and facilities considerations) and communicating outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with reliability, availability and maintainability concepts and how they influence supportability and sustainment outcomes.
  • Experience producing and controlling ILS artefacts, maintaining evidence/traceability, and contributing to reviews, audits and customer engagements.
  • Comfort working with technical teams to interpret drawings, bills of material, procedures and changes to ensure support products remain aligned to the design baseline.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and facilitation skills with attention to detail.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain Baseline security clearance (or currently hold Baseline).
