Commercial Carpenter / Ceilings & Partitions Installer

Based in Toowoomba, you'll enjoy the stability of permanent, ongoing work across a range of commercial projects throughout South East Queensland, with the support of an experienced, down-to-earth team who take pride in doing things safely and well.

This role is focused on commercial wall and ceiling systems. Work will be predominantly centred around metal stud framing, suspended ceilings, wall and ceiling sheeting, setting, and seismic framing requirements. While the majority of your work will be in this space, opportunities to undertake residential fit-out and second-fix carpentry may also arise for those interested in broadening their experience.

Duties

You'll carry out a variety of commercial wall and ceiling system installations across a range of projects.

Key Duties Include

• Metal stud framing
• Suspended ceiling systems
• Wall and ceiling sheeting
• Setting and finishing
• Reading and interpreting plans and specifications
• Completing material take-offs
• Interpreting and installing seismic framing and bracing systems

You'll Also

• Read and interpret construction drawings
• Operate tools and equipment safely
• Maintain a high standard of workmanship
• Follow all site safety procedures
• Work effectively within a team while also being able to work independently when required

What We're Looking For

• Certificate III in Carpentry or Certificate III in Wall & Ceiling Lining (Ceilings & Partitions)
• Experience working on commercial wall and ceiling systems
• Strong framing, sheeting and setting experience
• Ability to read construction drawings and complete material take-offs
• Experience with seismic framing and bracing systems (or a willingness to develop these skills)
• Safety-focused with excellent attention to detail
• Strong work ethic and pride in quality workmanship
• Professional, reliable and team-oriented
• Construction White Card (or ability to obtain)
• Current driver's licence and reliable transport (travel across Brisbane and South East Queensland as required)
