Remuneration will be in accordance with the relevant classification level under the Children’s Services Award 2010 (Level L7). This is a permanent part-time, term-time role of 30 hours per week, with additional hours potentially available during school holidays as required.

These services include Playgroup for 0-5YO’s, Out of Hours (After School care) for 5-12 YO’s plus a diverse range of classes, workshops, events, venue hire, fresh food markets and community programs in the heart of North Sydney.

With a variety of activities including arts and crafts, games, cultural activities, physical play, and more, our program is designed so as the children attending are kept engaged and active. Our experienced and caring staff provide a welcoming atmosphere and ensure the children feel safe and comfortable.

Position Description. Support the ASC Director and lead daily program excellence in a dynamic, child‑focused environment.

About the Role

The ASC Assistant Director plays a key leadership role, supporting the ASC Director in compliance, staff supervision, and program quality. You’ll provide strong on‑the‑floor leadership, act as Responsible Person, and help ensure the service delivers safe, engaging, and inclusive experiences for all children.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support compliance with the National Law & Regulations and Child Safe Standards
  • Act as Responsible Person
  • Ensuring a safe and inclusive OSHC service for staff and children
  • Mentor educators and support training, induction, and team culture
  • Oversee daily operations, documentation, and WHS checks
  • Build positive relationships with families and school partners
  • Assist with administrative tasks

What You Bring

  • A qualification (or undertaking) in Early Childhood Education and Care
  • Previous experience in OSHC
  • Completed the mandatory national child safety training via GECCKO
  • A First Aid Certificate
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills
