Lead Business Analyst | Process Redesign
PWC Australia
This is offered as a 12-month Maximum Contract opportunity.
There's real craft in untangling how financial operations actually work — mapping the flows, spotting the friction, and designing something better. As a Lead Business Analyst at PwC, you'll bring your expertise in process mapping, financial operations analysis, and stakeholder engagement to lead the design of scalable, standardised workflows across pricing, billing and WIP management, based in Melbourne / Naarm or Sydney / Gadigal. You'll be partnering with cross-functional teams to transform how financial processes operate end-to-end, strengthening controls and unlocking automation opportunities across the client engagement lifecycle.
Why PwC?
At PwC Australia, your skills meet purpose. We tackle big challenges across industries like finance, technology, energy, and health—giving you the chance to make a real impact. Here, your growth is our priority. You’ll work with leading teams, explore new technologies, and unlock your full potential.
Join a global community of more than 370,000 people who value bold ideas, collaboration, and lasting change. Together, we’re building trust and shaping the future.
What you’ll do:
Lead discovery, process mapping and analysis activities across pricing, job setup, WIP management and billing processes, identifying inefficiencies, control gaps, risks and opportunities for standardisation.
Assess current-state financial operations processes, controls, decision points, data flows and stakeholder interactions to develop future-state operating models and process designs.
Partner with cross-functional teams to elicit, validate and document business, functional and reporting requirements that support financial operations transformation and risk assessment uplift initiatives.
Develop future-state customer journeys, process maps, operating procedures, control frameworks and service designs that improve workflow efficiency, strengthen governance, and enable automation opportunities.
Analyse pain points, root causes and process variation across financial operations activities, providing recommendations to improve commercial outcomes, operational performance, and user experience.
Prepare business analysis artefacts, process documentation, impact assessments and implementation recommendations to support the successful delivery of transformation outcomes, ensuring end-to-end traceability, alignment and integration across the Client Engagement Lifecycle.
What we’re looking for:
Core skills
Strong experience in process mapping and re-designing workflows.
Proven track record delivering complex change initiatives and achieving adoption at scale.
Demonstrated ability to engage senior executives, building trusted advisor relationships.
Desirable skills
Working knowledge of enterprise finance, workflow and reporting systems (e.g. pricing and revenue management, billing, finance and invoicing, PowerBI etc.), with the ability to analyse system impacts, process dependencies, integration points and opportunities for process improvement across finance functions.
