We’re entering an exciting phase of growth, and we’re looking for a Senior Workplace Relations Advisor to help us lead the way.

As a Senior Workplace Relations Advisor, you will provide expert advice across a broad range of employee and industrial relations matters, support the implementation of AusNet’s workplace relations strategy, and help deliver practical, compliant and people-focused outcomes across the business.

What you’ll be doing in this role

  • Provide specialist advice on complex employee and industrial relations matters, including escalated cases with significant business risk.
  • Support the development and implementation of workplace relations strategy aligned with broader business and People & Safety priorities.
  • Partner with People Partners, leaders and key stakeholders to deliver practical, commercially sound and compliant outcomes.
  • Support enterprise agreement development, negotiation and implementation, including policy and legislative alignment.
  • Build constructive relationships with relevant unions
  • Lead or support workplace investigations, dispute resolution processes, and advocacy in external forums where required.
  • Develop guidance, communications and training materials to build capability and improve workplace relations practices across the business.
  • Provide input into business initiatives that require industrial relations advice and expertise
  • Support various complex people matters as required

You don’t need to check every box, however we’re looking for a good combination of:

  • Strong knowledge of interpreting and advising leaders on Australian employment and industrial relations legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience in workplace relations, employee relations and/or industrial relations within a complex organisation.
  • Experience managing complex people matters, investigations, mediation or conciliation processes, and providing advice to leaders.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across the business.
  • Excellent judgement, written communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Employment Relations, Law, Business or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
