About the role

Our lovely team at Gold Coast in Robina is looking for a Casual Lifestyle Assistant to join the team.

The overall purpose of the role is to assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of activities and lifestyle programs which enable clients to participate in a variety of experiences which improve their quality of life, taking into account the physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs of each individual within Anglicare Southern Queensland (Anglicare).

The role will also be responsible for ensuring client safety at all times and providing services to clients under the direction and supervision of a Diversional Therapist and/or other team members as per the Community Services branch structure.

The role is expected to fill in for our centre-based respite activities and out & about community groups.

The timings for the role will normally be 8am-4pm OR 7:30am-3:30pm.

It will be based either from our Southport Respite Centre OR Robina Anglicare office where our lifestyle groups start and finish from.

Full availability between Mon-Fri is expected. This role will include driving a bus (Toyota Hi Ace) and collecting clients and no special bus licence is required.

The payrate for this role will range between $35.77/44.71-$39.94/49.93/hr + Salary packaging depending on your experience.

About you

  • Experience in conducting activity programs/therapy, diversional therapy and recreations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively within a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuously upgrading skills, knowledge and competencies.
  • Experience in care of the elderly or evidence of interest in working within aged care.
  • Experience within a community services, not for profit or similar organisation.

Role Requirements

  • Valid Aged Care Worker Screening Check: o Current National Police Check OR o Current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance NB: NDIS Worker Screening Clearance is mandatory for Services/Facilities delivering services to NDIS clients. o Statutory Declaration if you have been a citizen or permanent resident of a country other than Australia after turning 16.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current Drivers Licence and own reliable vehicle
  • Certificate IV in Leisure & Health or equivalent
  • Associate membership of Diversional Therapy Association of Australia
