We have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to co-design the future of our energy systems, and our core values revolve around character, commitment, and connection. Join us as we contribute to this significant transition in the energy sector.

AEMO's Onboarding and Connections Group provides technical leadership and oversight for the connection and registration of new generating systems entering the National Electricity Market. As the transformation of Australia's power system continues to accelerate, our engineers are at the forefront of solving the technical challenges associated with integrating new technologies at scale.

About The Role

We are seeking four Senior Engineers to join our Onboarding & Connections team, comprising two permanent and two fixed-term opportunities (24 months).

These positions have arisen to support several leave coverage arrangements across the broader team and present a unique opportunity to gain exposure across multiple areas within Connections. Unlike traditional roles aligned to a single function, these positions will rotate across different streams, offering broad technical experience, exposure to diverse project portfolios and the ability to work with specialists across the connection lifecycle.

This is an ideal opportunity for senior engineers who enjoy variety, thrive on solving complex technical challenges and are looking to broaden their expertise within Australia's rapidly evolving power system.

Working closely with engineers, network businesses, developers and other industry participants, you'll bring technical leadership, sound engineering judgement and deep power system modelling capability to support successful connection outcomes.

Reporting to experienced and supportive leaders, these roles can be based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth or Adelaide and offer flexible hybrid working arrangements.

  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to engineers across the team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve complex engineering issues and drive practical outcomes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, technical standards and engineering methodologies.
