An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced procurement and commercial leader to join a well-established national services organisation during a period of transformation and growth.

Reporting directly to the Executive General Manager - Operations, this newly created leadership position will play a pivotal role in driving procurement excellence, strengthening commercial governance and overseeing the organisation's tender and contract management capability.

As Head of Procurement & Commercial Services, you will lead a small, high-performing team responsible for procurement, contract management, tender submissions and commercial governance.With significant opportunity to improve procurement processes, supplier performance and commercial outcomes, you'll have the autonomy to shape the function while partnering closely with senior operational leaders across the business. This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who enjoys balancing strategic thinking with operational delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a national procurement strategy that delivers measurable commercial value.
  • Identify and deliver procurement savings through supplier consolidation, strategic sourcing and contract optimisation.
  • Lead supplier relationship management and contract negotiations.
  • Oversee the tender submission process, ensuring high-quality, compliant and on-time submissions.
  • Review and negotiate commercial contracts, identifying and mitigating commercial risk.
  • Strengthen procurement governance, policies and compliance frameworks.
  • Partner with operational leaders to support commercial decision-making across the business.
  • Lead, coach and develop a small national team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Significant leadership experience across procurement, contracts or commercial management.
  • Degree qualified in Law, Accounting or MBA
  • Demonstrated success delivering procurement transformation and supplier value.
  • Strong commercial acumen with excellent contract negotiation skills.
  • Experience overseeing tender or bid submission processes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing capability.
  • A collaborative leadership style with the ability to operate both strategically and hands-on.
  • Experience within facilities management, outsourced services, construction, infrastructure or similar industries will be highly regarded.
