Troocoo is proud to partner with a leading Brisbane-based financial services business to recruit a Marketing Database Analyst to join their high-performing Marketing Automation & Analytics team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working hands-on with data and analytics, while also being closely connected to marketing campaigns and customer outcomes. You'll split your time between deep data work, reporting and insights, and supporting the delivery of highly personalised marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
The opportunity
Joining a collaborative and well-established marketing function, this role plays a critical part in helping the business deliver personalised, relevant customer communications and improve campaign and commercial outcomes. You'll work with a collaborative team to:
- Develop and deliver customer data sets that power targeted campaigns.
- Build campaign and commercial analytics that generate actionable insights.
- Contribute to the marketing eco-system roadmap and ongoing automation of data flows.
- Support the continuous evolution of data driven marketing across the business.
This role is well suited to someone who is technically strong but genuinely interested in marketing, rather than purely technical or purely campaign-focused. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical skill and campaign delivery experience, along with the critical thinking to interpret a brief, ask the right questions and find smarter solutions rather than simply following instructions as written.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the end-to-end delivery of commercial campaigns across channels such as eDM, SMS, direct mail, outbound and web optimisation, including data set development, pre-live testing and send management.
- Write SQL queries to develop and maintain data and data processes that support campaign delivery and customer engagement.
- Build and maintain dashboards and reporting to communicate campaign and commercial performance.
- Build campaigns within a marketing automation platform, with the mindset to troubleshoot and take on tasks outside your immediate skill set where needed.
- Implement automation of data flows and campaign activity to improve efficiency, reliability and accuracy.
- Partner closely with Product Marketing Managers to translate analytical insights into ongoing strategy and campaign evolution.
- Manage regular reporting in line with stakeholder needs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of marketing technology, data architecture and overall data quality.
Key requirements
- Strong SQL skills, with the ability to write and work with complex queries for data extraction and analysis.
- Experience building and maintaining dashboards and reports, and communicating insights to a range of stakeholders.
- Experience building campaigns within a marketing automation platform.
- Strong critical thinking skills and a problem-solving mindset.
- Experience with marketing automation tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or Braze.
Nice to have:
- Basic HTML skills, or a willingness to build them.
- Knowledge of direct marketing principles.
- Experience working with customer data sets to generate campaign target lists.
- Google BigQuery and/or SAS EG experience.
- Relational database design and development experience.
- Experience with other programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, R or SAS.
