Board Director (Consumer Marketing and Community Engagement)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Board Director who can bring a strong customer, marketing, and community lens to governance.

The Board Director will help the Board understand the evolving needs and expectations of customers and communities, and how these insights can inform strategy, marketing, organisational performance, reputation, and decision-making.

We are looking for an individual with deep expertise in customer insight, marketing and community engagement, together with experience operating at Board and/or Executive (C-Suite) in a large complex organisation or at a governance level.

Key Experience

In addition to the requirements of the Board Director Position Description (available on request), the successful candidate will demonstrate experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Establishing and overseeing governance frameworks that capture customer, and market insights, identify emerging needs and expectations, and translate these insights into organisational strategy, marketing, performance and Board decision-making
  • Using customer and community insights to shape strategic priorities, service models, organisational performance and future growth opportunities
  • Designing and evaluating governance approaches that ensure consumer voice and partnership meaningfully inform oversight, decision-making and organisational improvement
  • Community and stakeholder engagement, including partnership development, social licence and building trusted relationships across diverse communities
  • Brand, reputation and customer experience, with an understanding of how these contribute to organisational performance, sustainability and market position

Selection Criteria

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Previous Board Director experience, ideally within aged care, health, community services or a similarly complex environment
  • Expertise in customer insight, consumer partnership, community engagement, marketing or a related discipline
  • The ability to translate customer and community insights into governance discussions and organisational improvement
  • Strong strategic thinking, sound judgement and a commitment to person-centred care and consumer partnership
