Our reputation has been built on commercial thinking, technical excellence and trusted relationships. As our firm continues to grow, we are expanding our Business Valuations capability with the appointment of a Director to establish and lead this practice.
The Opportunity
This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a specialist valuations practice within an established and growing corporate advisory firm.
Reporting directly to the Board, you will have responsibility for developing the service offering, establishing methodology and quality standards, recruiting and mentoring a high-performing team, and leading client engagements across a diverse range of industries.
Rather than inheriting an existing function, you will shape the practice from the ground up, supported by an established brand, strong deal flow and a collaborative M&A team. The expectation is to lead a team of 4 specialist valuations staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation, review and sign-off of standalone business valuation engagements across a broad range of industries and purposes.
- Develop and implement the practice's valuation methodologies, report templates, quality assurance processes and operating framework.
- Recruit, mentor and develop a high-performing valuations team as the practice grows.
- Work closely with Nash Advisory's M&A team where valuation advice supports transaction execution.
- Build trusted relationships with clients, accountants, lawyers, and other referral partners to grow the practice nationally.
- Partner with the founders on the strategic direction, commercial development and long-term growth of the Business Valuations division.
About You
You are an experienced valuations professional with a strong technical foundation and a commercial mindset.
You have built your career within a Big Four or leading advisory firm, specialising in standalone business valuations rather than valuation work undertaken solely as part of audit or transaction support engagements. You are confident engaging directly with business owners, boards and advisers, and are comfortable presenting and defending your valuation conclusions.

We are looking for someone with
- A minimum of five years' experience in business valuations within a Big Four or comparable advisory firm.
- Demonstrated expertise in standalone business valuations across a range of industries and valuation purposes.
- Strong technical capability across discounted cash flow, market multiple, capitalisation of earnings and asset-based valuation methodologies.
- CA or CFA qualification (essential). With the expectation that you will complete the CA BVS course within 6 months of joining
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing junior professionals.

Remuneration
Base salary + bonus + profit share
