Multiple Lead Senior Data Engineers

The Network are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to deliver cloud-native Azure data solutions within a Federal Government environment.

12 months +2 x 12 month extensions

Must hold an active Baseline clearance

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the design, development and implementation of modern Azure data platforms, driving the migration of legacy SQL Server environments to Azure Databricks, Delta Lake and Azure Data Factory. You'll provide technical leadership, build scalable data pipelines, implement DataOps best practices, and collaborate with architects and stakeholders to deliver secure, high-performance data solutions.

Who are we looking for

Must have

• Extensive experience designing, delivering and optimising enterprise-scale data platforms.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Azure Databricks, Apache Spark, PySpark, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure SQL and Microsoft SQL Server.
• Proven experience migrating legacy SQL Server/SSIS/SSAS environments to Azure.
• Strong knowledge of modern data architecture and warehousing including Medallion, Kimball and Data Vault methodologies.
• Experience with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, data governance, security and data quality frameworks.
• Advanced SQL, Python (PySpark), CI/CD, Azure DevOps, Git and DataOps practices.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and technical leadership skills.

Highly desirable

• Experience with environmental, geospatial or scientific data.
• Knowledge of the broader Azure data ecosystem, advanced analytics or machine learning.
• Previous experience working within Australian Government or regulated environments.
