The Queensland Tourism Industry Council (QTIC) is Queensland's peak tourism industry body—independent, member-driven and committed to growing a thriving, sustainable visitor economy.
We're looking for an experienced Industry Capability & Workforce Manager to join our Industry Capability team for a six-month contract, delivering high-impact workforce and industry capability programs that support tourism businesses across Queensland.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, managing government-funded programs and working directly with industry to solve workforce challenges.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Industry Capability, you'll lead the delivery of QTIC's Industry Workforce Advisor Program while supporting a range of industry capability initiatives including workforce development, business capability and professional development programs.
Working alongside an experienced and collaborative team, you'll engage with tourism operators, government, training providers and industry stakeholders to deliver practical outcomes that strengthen Queensland's tourism workforce.
You'll be responsible for
- Delivering QTIC's Industry Workforce Advisor Program and achieving all contractual KPIs and reporting requirements.
- Working directly with tourism and hospitality businesses to identify workforce needs and connect employers with training and employment solutions.
- Supporting the delivery of QTIC's industry capability programs, professional development initiatives and business support services.
- Building strong relationships with government agencies, industry partners, members and training providers.
- Preparing reports, maintaining accurate program records and contributing to continuous improvement across capability programs.
- Working collaboratively across the organisation to support QTIC's strategic priorities.
About You
You'll bring
- Experience delivering government-funded programs, workforce initiatives or industry capability projects.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Excellent organisation and project management abilities with a high level of attention to detail.
- Confidence managing multiple priorities and meeting contractual deadlines.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- An interest in innovation, including using AI and digital tools to improve productivity and program delivery.
- Experience within tourism, hospitality, workforce development or a related industry will be highly regarded.

Contract Details
- Full-time position.
- Fixed-term contract until 31 December 2026.
- Based in Brisbane with some Queensland travel as required.
