Human Resources Advisor

Working closely with site leaders and operational teams, you will play a key role in building a positive workplace culture, supporting workforce performance, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.
Roster
This role will be based onsite in Cobar, NSW working an 8/6-day FIFO roster from Brisbane or Sydney with local candidates highly regarded. Local candidates may be offered this opportunity on a 5/2 Monday to Friday roster.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day HR advice, coaching and support to leaders and employees across the site.
- Support employee relations matters, including investigations, performance management, disciplinary processes and workplace concerns.
- Assist with the interpretation and application of enterprise agreements, policies, procedures and employment legislation.
- Partner with leaders to support workforce planning, role changes, recruitment activities and people-related operational needs.
- Contribute to workplace change initiatives, culture programs, engagement activities and wellbeing initiatives.
- Support training, development and capability-building activities across the workforce.
- Maintain accurate HR records, reporting and documentation to support effective people management.
- Build trusted relationships with leaders, employees and key stakeholders across a complex operational environment.
Qualifications
About You
You will be someone who enjoys being visible in the business, building strong relationships and finding practical solutions in a fast-moving workplace. You do not need to know everything about mining, but you will need to be curious, resilient, organised and willing to learn. This role will suit an HR professional who wants to grow their capability in employee relations, industrial relations and operational HR while working in a unique site-based environment.
To be successful, you will bring the following skills, experience and personal attributes:
- A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- Previous experience in an HR Advisor, HR Officer or similar people-focused role.
- A sound understanding of Fair Work legislation, employee relations processes and HR best practice.
- The ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and industrial instruments.
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with employees and leaders at all levels.
- Practical problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A willingness to work in a remote, site-based and operational environment.
- Experience in a blue-collar workforce will be highly regarded.
- Current driver’s licence.
