Territory Generation is the largest producer of electricity in the Northern Territory with assets from Alice Springs to Darwin. We use gas, diesel and solar technologies to provide power across the Territory.
Your New Role
The Wedell Power Station Lead OMT will support the safe and efficient execution of operational and maintenance activities at Weddell Power Station through hands-on involvement and supervision of site work.
Your responsibilities include
- Perform daily operational checks and inspections of plant and equipment to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation.
- Execute preventative maintenance (PM) tasks and assist with corrective maintenance activities.
- Supervise and support site work activities to ensure compliance with safe systems of work and procedures.
- Assist in the coordination of maintenance activities, outages and commissioning works.
- Identify, report and assist in the investigation of plant defects, failures and abnormal conditions.
- Maintain accurate site logs, records and reporting.
- Liaise with maintenance teams, contractors and stakeholders to support execution of work programs.
- Undertake housekeeping duties and maintain plant presentation.
- Provide input into maintenance planning noting accountability remains with Maintenance.
- Carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principles, corporate values and strategies.
Your skills & experience
- Certificate III (Trade) in Electrotechnology and/or Certificate III (Trade) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent skills, knowledge and experience.
- Experience in maintenance or operation of industrial plant and ability to identify and report defects.
- Understanding of safety and quality systems and ability to supervise work and maintain safe systems.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance and inspection processes.
- Good written and oral communication skills and an ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures and organisational backgrounds.
- Strong personal organisation and professionalism with the ability to prioritise and manage competing demands and deliver outcomes.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in Power Generation.
- Have or be able to obtain an NT driver’s licence.
- Ability to carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policies and corporate values and strategies.
Desirable skills & experience
- Relevant post trade qualifications
- Extensive experience in large scale heavy industry environments.
This is an ongoing role and requires Australian Citizenship or other eligible visa type. This role is based in Darwin NT, relocation assistance may be provided.
