Ability Plus Disability Services is growing and is seeking a motivated

Finance & Payroll Assistant to join our Finance team on a 24 Month Full-Time Fixed term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their finance career who is eager to develop hands-on experience across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll and NDIS invoicing while making a positive impact in the disability sector.

You'll work closely with experienced Finance and Payroll Officers, gaining exposure to a broad range of finance functions within a supportive and collaborative team environment.

Note: this role can be based at either of our Cheltenham or Keilor Park locations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Finance and Operations, you will assist with:

  • Accounts payable and supplier invoice processing
  • Accounts receivable, payment allocations and debtor follow-up
  • NDIS and TAC invoicing
  • Bank reconciliations and finance administration
  • Fortnightly payroll processing and timesheet verification
  • Employee onboarding and payroll record maintenance
  • Payroll compliance activities including superannuation and payroll tax

About You

  • 1–2 years' experience in administration, accounts, payroll or finance support
  • Ability and desire to analyse and interrogate data
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills
  • Intermediate to expert level in Excel e.g comfortable with pivot tables and v look ups
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
  • Experience with MYOB, Xero or similar accounting systems is desirable
