A highly respected national construction contractor with a strong track record of delivering complex, large-scale projects across a range of sectors is seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to join its Canberra team. Based on-site, you will play a key role in the successful commercial delivery of major building projects.
Your new role
As a Contracts Administrator, you will be responsible for supporting the commercial and contractual management of a major construction project from delivery through to completion. Working closely with the project and commercial teams, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing subcontractor and supplier contracts, variations, claims and correspondence
- Supporting procurement activities and ensuring contract requirements are met
- Administering head contract and subcontract variations
- Assisting with subcontractor payment claims and contract compliance processes
- Tracking and managing contract documentation, defects, manuals and project close-out activities
- Preparing monthly cost reports, forecasts and commercial reporting
- Monitoring commercial risks and assisting with contract finalisation activities
- Building strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and internal stakeholders to support project outcomes
What you'll need to succeed
- A completed degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- 3-6 years' experience in a Contracts Administrator role within commercial construction
- Strong understanding of contract administration, procurement and project financial management
- Experience working on large-scale building projects with a head contractor
- Exposure to construction management systems such as CHEOPS, Aconex or similar platforms
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively within a project team
