About the position
The Innovation Officer is responsible for the development, promotion and delivery of innovation and education programs in partnership with schools, TAFE, universities, government and business. The role delivers programs for students and the community, developing skills and networks for future employment, fostering entrepreneurship and supporting existing and emerging industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement tailored education programs, including the STEM Program, to integrate cross curricular learning with the unique opportunities and challenges of the area
- Maintain and manage the STEM Learning Environment and Equipment Library including deploying latest technologies and delivering activities and events which support program outcomes and encourage community participation
- Collaborate and partner with schools, government and industry to upskill, leverage and embed STEM, education and innovation outcomes
- Maintain effective relationships with the industry partner/s, business, TAFE and universities, government and grant funding bodies to leverage existing activities
- Promote activities and achievements within schools and the community, including production of promotional material and social media
- Collate data, analyse and report on project outcomes and achievement of key performance indicators including grant reporting
- Supervise casual staff and co-teach with primary and secondary school teachers in the delivery of the program content
About you
- Degree qualifications in Teaching, Science Communication or other relevant degree with experience developing and delivering STEM content
- An ability to transfer your skills from an education context to a corporate environment
- Proven leadership in STEM pedagogy with an emphasis on designing, developing and implementing innovative curriculum / assessment practices and developing integrated programs
- Demonstrated ability to develop, deliver and evaluate learning outcomes which respond to the needs of different groups, builds capacity and maximise individual learning outcomes
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders, build productive relationships and engage school and business communities
- Well-developed planning, organisational and project management skills, including the management of technology, equipment and multi-faceted program initiatives within set timeframes
- Current Working with Children Check (NSW) clearance
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check

- Permanent full time, 35 hours per week
- Salary from $119,931 to $128,497 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
