Senior Highways Engineer

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Highways Engineer to join their Highways and Bridges team in Queensland. This is a technically focused role, acting as lead engineer across a portfolio of TMR planning and design engagements.
The Role
As lead engineer, you will take technical ownership of TMR road and highway planning and design projects, guiding the delivery of high quality design outcomes from concept through to documentation. You will collaborate closely with Principal Designers and Project Managers to ensure projects are delivered to scope, program, and quality standards, and you will provide technical mentoring and guidance to junior engineers as they develop their careers.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience delivering TMR road and highway planning and design projects
- Demonstrated experience across geometric design, guardrail assessments, signage and linemarking design, PUP relocation design, drainage design, traffic signals, ITS, BOQ preparation, and TIC-CO documentation preparation
- Demonstrated experience writing and leading the preparation of technical design reports
- Demonstrated experience managing subcontractor and SME inputs into design deliverables
- Current registration as an RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer Queensland)
The following will also be highly regarded
- Business development experience, including a client network and bid writing capability
- A background in traffic engineering and/or traffic modelling
- TMR Road Safety Auditor accreditation
- Strong project delivery connections with South East Queensland councils
