The opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic wills & estates lawyer (10 years PAE plus) to join our well established and growing team.
As a member of our team, you will be working alongside LIV accredited specialists, who have a wealth of experience acting for a diverse range of clients in estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation, including superannuation disputes and VCAT matters. You will have the opportunity to work on a range of interesting, varied and challenging matters, managing your own files from start to finish while being support by an experienced and friendly team.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced wills and estates lawyer who is confident managing matters with a high degree of autonomy, while also valuing collaboration and contributing positively to a close-knit team. You will bring sound technical judgment, strong client relationship skills and a genuine interest in developing your practice within a supportive and growing team. Ideally, you will:
- be enthusiastic, approachable and commercially minded, with a positive can-do attitude and a genuine interest in wills and estates work
- have strong experience across estate planning, estate administration and estate litigation, including the ability to identify issues early and guide clients through complex or sensitive matters
- have excellent drafting and technical skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and practical advice, correspondence, court documents and estate planning documents
- be proactive, organised and responsive, with the ability to manage competing priorities, coordinate matter progression and meet file, client and court deadlines
- be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of files, while knowing when to seek input from colleagues and senior practitioners
- have received strong training in your career to date, ideally in a firm well-known for its wills and estates practice, and be keen to continue developing your expertise
- be willing to help train, mentor and supervise junior lawyers and graduates, including by providing practical guidance, constructive feedback and support with their professional development
- be willing to contribute to the profile and growth of the team through business development, networking, marketing and client relationship activities, and
