A large and well-regarded public sector organization is embarking on a significant portfolio of digital and business transformation initiatives designed to modernize technology platforms, improve operational efficiency and enhance services across the organization.

As part of an established Technology function, a 2 year Fixed-Term opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of multiple strategic technology programs.

Your new role

Reporting to the Digital Transformation leadership team, you will be responsible for leading multiple concurrent technology and business transformation initiatives from initiation through to implementation and benefits realization.

Working across business and technology teams, you will provide end-to-end project leadership, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget and aligned to business objectives.

The current portfolio includes a range of strategic initiatives such as:

• Enterprise HR and workforce technology transformation programs
• Corporate and financial systems modernization projects
• Customer and community-facing digital platform implementations
• Workflow automation and business process improvement initiatives
• SaaS platform implementations and integrations
• Data migration, business readiness, and organizational change programs

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading project planning, governance, and delivery activities
• Managing budgets, schedules, risks, issues and dependencies
• Driving stakeholder engagement across business and technology teams
• Managing procurement activities, vendors and implementation partners
• Overseeing workshops, requirements gathering and solution delivery
• Leading testing, training, cutover planning, and go-live activities
• Preparing executive reports, steering committee updates, and project documentation
• Driving organizational change, adoption, and benefits realization

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

• Proven experience delivering complex digital and technology transformation projects within large and complex organizations
• Strong end-to-end project management capability across scope, schedule, budget, risk and governance
• Experience delivering enterprise platforms such as ERP, HRIS, finance, corporate, or customer-facing systems
• Strong vendor, procurement and implementation partner management experience
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience influencing executive-level stakeholders
• Strong business transformation, organizational change, and business readiness experience
• Experience working within public sector, government, utilities, education, healthcare, or similarly complex environments will be highly regarded
• Relevant Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, or equivalent
