We’re looking for an experienced Project Commissioning Lead to join our team of experts. This role is responsible for leading and coordinating all project specific commissioning activities, working closely with engineering, construction, OEM partners, and operations teams to ensure the safe, efficient, and successful start-up and handover of renewable energy assets (incorporating thermal generation, solar PV, BESS, and wind).

What you'll do
- Plan, coordinate, and lead commissioning activities for hybrid renewable energy projects, including thermal, solar photovoltaic (PV), Battery energy storage system (BESS), and wind turbine generators.
- Develop commissioning procedures, Inspection and Test Plans schedules, procedures, and checklists aligned with project requirements and industry standards.
- Supervise commissioning teams, subcontractors, and third-party vendors to ensure quality and safety compliance.
- Oversee system testing, performance verification, and troubleshooting during commissioning phases.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and operations teams to resolve technical issues and optimize system performance.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout commissioning.
- Prepare and maintain detailed commissioning documentation, reports, and handover packages.
- Facilitate client inspections, acceptance testing, and final project handover.
- Drive continuous improvement in commissioning processes and methodologies.
To thrive in this role, you'll have the following skills and experience:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- High voltage switching qualifications or equivalent (preferred).
- OEM training / certifications for solar inverters, wind turbines, or BESS systems (advantage).
- Strong knowledge of relevant codes, standards and regulations (e.g., IEC, AS/NZS, grid codes).
- 5 – 10+ years commissioning experience in power generation and/or heavy industrial projects.
- Established track record commissioning thermal, solar PV, wind turbines, and BESS.
- Experience with hybrid power plant controls, Energy Management Systems (EMS), SCADA systems, and grid integration.
- Strong understanding of HV / LV electrical systems, protection schemes, grid codes, control systems and utility interfacing.
- Demonstrated experience/understanding of Hazardous Areas associated with hydrocarbons
- Thorough understanding of Tier 1 commissioning process’s or similar.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary site teams in complex commissioning environments.
