Are you a detail-oriented Financial Accountant who enjoys owning the numbers and driving continuous improvement?
GemLife is one of Australia's fastest-growing developers, owners and operators of luxury over-50s lifestyle resorts. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a motivated Financial Accountant to join our Head Office Finance team.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting while supporting the business with valuable financial insights and maintaining compliance with statutory obligations.
What You'll Be Doing
- Owning the month-end reporting process, including journals, accruals and prepayments.
- Preparing Special Purpose and General Purpose Financial Statements.
- Ensuring compliance with GST, PAYG, FBT, Payroll Tax and other statutory reporting requirements.
- Performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.
- Managing the Fixed Asset Register and depreciation.
- Assisting with tax compliance and supporting external audits.
- Working closely with internal stakeholders to deliver accurate financial reporting and commercial insights.
- Identifying opportunities to improve financial systems, processes and controls.
What You Bring
- CA or CPA qualification.
- Ideally trained within a Big 4 or mid-tier accounting firm.
- At least two years' post-qualification experience in a Financial Accountant role.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting experience.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with Technology One (highly regarded).
- Strong experience with FBT.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
