Purpose of the role

At Zembl, data sits at the heart of how we build better products, improve customer outcomes and make smarter commercial decisions.

This 12-month fixed-term opportunity will see you play a key role in shaping the data platform that powers these decisions. This is a hands-on engineering role where you’ll design and build scalable data pipelines, develop robust data products and create automation solutions that improve the way our business operates.

Working alongside an experienced Senior Data Engineer, you’ll build reliable, production-grade data solutions that support teams across Product, Sales, Marketing and Analytics. From integrating complex data sources and designing efficient data models to automating manual workflows and improving data quality, your work will have a direct impact on how we operate and scale.

What you’ll do

  • Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and internal tooling
  • Develop reliable data models and products that support reporting, analytics and product initiatives
  • Build integrations across APIs, file-based systems and platforms including Salesforce, NetSuite and external data providers
  • Improve data quality, testing, monitoring and observability across the platform
  • Help automate manual workflows using programmatic solutions and AI-assisted workflows
  • Collaborate with Product, Data, Sales and Marketing teams to understand business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions
  • Contribute to engineering standards, documentation, testing practices and continuous improvement
  • Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and improve the scalability of our data environment

About you

You’re someone who enjoys writing quality code, thinking through data problems and continuously improving the way things are built.

You have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Data Engineering, Software Engineering or a similar discipline
  • Experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines
  • Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Go, Java or C#
  • Solid understanding of data modelling principles, including dimensional modelling and relational databases
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals including version control, testing and code reviews
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work across technical and business stakeholders
  • Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
