The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Commercial is responsible for planning and implementing sales and product development programs, both short and long term, targeted towards existing and new markets by performing and directing the day-to-day activities. He / She will plan, organise, develop and communicate strategies and goals for the team which include Room Sales, Catering Sales. The Director of Commercial is responsible for driving the teams in developing new accounts, nurturing existing accounts, and implementing sales strategies to push the hotel performance. He / She will work with PPHG Corporate Sales & Revenue Performance Teams to create and implement hotel level tactical sales plans, analyse current potential market and sales trends and spearhead all activities to increase revenue and market share through added business volume and increased rate for the hotel in all market segments.
Talent Profile
Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing the hotel's commercial strategy, ensuring alignment with Pan Pacific Hotels Group's brand standards and business objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and inspiring the Sales and Catering teams to achieve ambitious commercial goals
- Developing and implementing strategic sales initiatives to drive revenue growth across transient, corporate, MICE and group segments
- Partnering with Revenue Management to optimise pricing, distribution and market positioning
- Building and strengthening key client relationships while expanding business opportunities
- Analysing market trends, competitor activity and business performance to identify new revenue opportunities
- Preparing annual budgets, forecasts and commercial plans while monitoring financial performance
- Coaching, mentoring and developing a high-performing commercial team through effective leadership and succession planning
- Representing the hotel at industry events, client functions and networking opportunities
About You
A strategic and results-driven commercial leader with a passion for hospitality and a proven ability to drive revenue growth, build high-performing teams, and develop long-lasting client relationships.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A minimum of 10 years senior Sales & Marketing leadership experience within an international hotel company
- At least 2 years experience as a Director of Sales within a 4 or 5-star hotel environment
- A proven track record of delivering revenue growth and achieving commercial targets across multiple market segments
- Experience selling across diverse geographical and industry markets, with a strong understanding of corporate, MICE, leisure and group business
- Demonstrated success in developing departmental revenue strategies, budgets, forecasts and performance goals
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to analyse market trends, financial performance and business opportunities to inform strategic decision-making
- An extensive network of industry contacts and the ability to leverage relationships to generate new business opportunities
- Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- A Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality Management, Business, Marketing or a related discipline
