CGC Recruitment are working with an existing client who are a Main Tier M&E Contractor who focus on Construction and Maintenance projects in the Resources sector Nationally across Australia.

As of recent project wins, they have identified an urgent requirement for a Maintenance Planner to work on a contract basis. The role will be responsible for the effective planning and scheduling of maintenance activities to ensure asset reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed job plans for preventive, corrective, and shutdown maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Review work notifications and convert them into planned work orders with detailed scopes, labor requirements, tools, materials, and safety procedures.
  • Liaise with operations and engineering to ensure planned activities align with production schedules and technical standards.
  • Order and coordinate delivery of parts and materials with procurement and warehousing teams.
  • Maintain accurate records in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) including job plans, asset histories, and failure data.
  • Prepare and update maintenance schedules and shutdown plans in coordination with execution teams.
  • Conduct field scoping of job sites to ensure job feasibility and verify resource needs.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for reliability enhancements and maintenance best practices.

Qualifications

  • Trade certification or diploma in Electrical or Instrumentation, or equivalent technical background.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance with at least 2 years in planning or scheduling.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and instrumentation systems, equipment, and safety standards.
  • Proficiency with CMMS software (e.g., SAP, Maximo) and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics.
