Role Description

The Experienced Student Counsellor will work full time on-site in Kochi, India providing end-to-end counseling support to students exploring study options in the New Zealand, UK, Australia, Canada, and . Daily responsibilities include conducting one-on-one counseling sessions, assessing student profiles, and recommending appropriate courses, institutions, and destinations aligned with their academic background and career goals. The role involves guiding students through application and admissions processes, coordinating documentation, and supporting them with visa requirements and interview preparation. The counsellor will also deliver information sessions, respond to inquiries via email and phone, maintain accurate records in CRM systems, and follow up with students to ensure smooth progress. Collaboration with colleagues and international education partners, as well as staying updated on university requirements and policy changes, is an important part of this role.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Student Counseling and Career Counseling skills to support learners in selecting suitable courses, institutions, and study destinations.
• Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear spoken and written English, active listening, and the ability to explain complex processes simply.
• Candidates should possess solid Customer Service skills, demonstrating patience, empathy, and professionalism when interacting with students and families.
• Candidates should possess a sound understanding of Education pathways, international admission processes, and study abroad requirements across multiple countries.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree in counseling, education, psychology, business, or a related field; advanced certifications in career guidance or student counseling are an advantage.
• Prior experience in overseas education consulting, university admissions, or academic advising, preferably working with New Zealand, UK, Australia, Canada institutions.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and proficiency in using CRM or student management systems.
• Ability to work ethically and collaboratively in a multicultural environment, with a focus on student success and transparent guidance.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of experience in student counselling or a related field in the education consultancy industry
• Strong knowledge of study abroad application processes for Australia, Canada, UK & New Zealand
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
